About Pa Hin Ngam National Park

Pa Hin Ngam National Park is located in the Chaiyaphum Province of northeastern Thailand, covering an area rich in distinctive geological features and vibrant natural landscapes. The park's name, which translates to "beautiful rock garden," refers to the fascinating rock formations created by weathering and erosion over millions of years. These rocks are scattered across the plateau and create a rugged and dramatic scene. A major attraction within the park is the extensive blooming of Siam tulips (Curcuma alismatifolia), which color the grassy plains in vivid pinks and purples, especially during the rainy season from July to September. The park rests at elevations between 900 and 1,200 meters, resulting in cooler temperatures compared to surrounding lowlands. Visitors can explore a network of well-maintained trails that offer views of cliffs, waterfalls, and the flora and fauna typical of the region's mixed deciduous forests. Pa Hin Ngam also holds historical significance with evidence of human habitation dating back thousands of years, including ancient cave paintings in some areas nearby. The park suits a broad range of recreational activities such as hiking, wildlife observation, and photography. The viewpoint named "Naa Mok," perched atop the rocky plateaus, offers panoramic views of the surrounding forest and adjacent national parks. Its accessibility and natural beauty make Pa Hin Ngam a favored destination for adventure seekers and nature lovers alike, especially during the blooming season when the landscape becomes alive with color.
